Juice Cleanse FAQ

Information on Cleansing:

  1. What is Cleansing ?

A short cleanse or detox program is not a comfort or pleasure. It’s a routine maintenance, something you do to help your body run better, feel cleaner, and look brighter and younger. During a juice cleanse, you alleviate the digestive process by replacing regular meals with delicious, fresh-pressed vegetable and fruit juices and silky smooth nut milk blends.Consuming only liquids for a few days frees energy in the body, which can then return to the essential jobs of deep inner cleansing and healing.

After a brief time on a cleaner diet, you will feel lighter, more energized and clearer in body and mind. Your mind becomes sharper as behaviors around eating and drinking are more balanced. You help build the inner conditions necessary to stay resilient and healthy. When you feel better on the inside, you look better on the outside. Glowing skin, bright eyes, the disappearance of hard-to-lose pounds, as well as a newfound sense of optimism and enjoyment of life, are all common results of juice cleansing.

Def: Detoxification (n). The natural process of releasing the waste products from breathing and eating plus the manmade toxins we inhale, absorb and consume. When these products build up faster than they are released, our bodily system begins to slow and struggle.

Def: Juice cleanse (n). A short, functional program of cutting food intake while enhancing the supply of vital enzymes and vitamins. This gives the body the time and nutritional support it requires to carry out deeper detoxification and healing than it can on a daily basis. The body sheds excess, creating energy as it restores clarity and radiance.

  2. How should I prepare for a cleanse ?

Like everything in life, if you put in more you will get more out. First and foremost you will need to set the date. Preparation is VITAL for a cleanse. We recommend five days prior to your cleanse to eliminate your usual intake of stimulants and to eat as light and raw as possible. This will help with a better experience of the cleanse.

    Eliminate:

    • Alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, sugar, salt
    • Artificial sweeteners and microwave foods
    • Meat, fried or processed food, dairy products
    • Gluten (oats, barley, rye, wheat)
    • Bread, pasta, pies, cakes and pastries
    Increase:
    • Intake of raw foods in your diet – salads and sprouted foods
    • Always hydrate yourself drink at least 2 liters of Pure water and hydrating fluids such as herbal teas and fresh fruit and vegetable juices, water with lemon is a great choice
    • Leafy green vegetables, short grain brown rice, and vegetable soups
  3. Is there anyone who should not cleanse?

Yes. New mothers and mothers-to-be should abstain. Those being treated for serious illness, as well as cardiac patients on prescription medication should check with their doctors because reducing food intake extensively can modify certain medication concentration in the blood. We don’t recommend doing the Cleanse before the age of 18. Children obviously need more calories per day to thrive and grow. It is safer, and smarter, for teens to learn healthy eating habits in a day-to-day fashion instead of doing a detox.

We’d be delighted to serve them any of our raw juices to get them inspired about how tasty “clean” fresh food can be. If you have children and teens at home, consider ordering raw juices as a replacement for sodas and processed drinks. They adore the flavors and colors of our juices, and go wild for new tastes like watermelon juice, carrot and apple juice, cucumber and apple juice.

  7. How am I gonna feel on my cleanse?

Everyone’s body is different that is why your body will respond to a juice cleanse differently from anothers. Common experiences include heightened energy levels, a feeling of lightness, the shedding of a few pounds, and a new clarity of mind and emotions. Our cleanse is designed to minimize the negative effects that can accompany the removal of accumulated toxins. However, it’s not uncommon to have headaches from caffeine withdrawal, hunger, and irritation.

On a longer cleanse, you may feel something similar to cold or flu symptoms. All these may be more evident if you typically eat a diet high in processed foods. Cleansing can trigger a slight healing crisis as your body rights itself into balance. If any of these symptoms appear, take it easy, let your body do its work.

  8. What should I do after my cleanse?

After you cleanse your body needs to be slowly introduced to sollid foods.

Try to maintain hydrating your body with 2 liters of water a day

Eat a lot of raw food, salads, soups and etc.

Slowly try to introduce your body to solids

DO NOT JUMP TO SOLID FOOD THE VERY NEXT DAY as it will ruin your cleanse & surprise your body
